Trick Art Museum @ i-City

Last month on the 17th, I visited i-City for the third time. There were nothing much to see during my first two visits. The weather was hot and humid. It is still now but at least they have few more fun attractions added in. One of the new attraction is the Trick Art Museum!

This is where the pictures suppose to play tricks on your eyes and camera. The paintings on the wall and floor are in 3 dimensions. According to the poster plastered on the ticketing booth, RM5 will allow you to enter into the museum where there are three exhibitions hall for you to visit. Egyptian Zone, Animal World Zone and Sea World Zone.

For a first timer, this is a fun experience. Below are some of the exhibits displayed.

I am going to the burial chamber *shivers*...

Yes.. they do have Jurassic Park too! Hahaha...

We fed a giraffe!

Picture says it all :P

Mine!!!

Oh shiet...in many attempts to capture a good photo, we accidentally broke a painting! *gasp*

With that we were being shoooed out from the museum :'(
I enjoyed my visit mainly because all the exhibits are new to me. If you ask me to pay  RM5 to go in for another round, I wouldn't.

OVERALL:

Price : RM5 per person
Worthy level: 7 out of 10. Worth visiting for a first timer. The museum is small but I spent around two hours snapping photos, doing crazy pose. Making the RM5 worthwhile. Not all paintings were nice. Some look rather weird.

If i-City is near you, do visit!! Aside from Trick Art Museum they have rides too but do not expect Genting Themepark kinda rides!

Sephora White Card : The yay and the nay

Loyal Sephora shoppers would have heard the news on their newly launched Loyalty Program few months back (6 months perhaps?) I decided not to write about it back then because I have not fully experience the yay and nay side of it and because I have no free time.

When I first got to know about this loyalty program, I shrugged! I was soooo disappointed. Tuzki Bunny Emoticon
Their previous promotion seems more attractive to me. Where you purchase SGD240 and you get SGD40 cash voucher in return to purchase selected products and brands. While in Malaysia, the promotion was every RM500 and get RM75 cash voucher. Nice right? Now it is different. They have white card as a substitute. No more cash vouchers to be redeemed no matter how much you spend.

Since it is different now, I have no choice but to embrace the change. I made my second purchase with the white card last two weeks, and I think I change my perception towards this loyalty card.

YOU WANT WHITE CARD?

  • All you have to do is visit the Sephora store in Malaysia or Singapore and apply. This card is FREE. No purchase required.  No minimum purchase required.

WHERE CAN I USE MY CARD?

  • Any Sephora store in Malaysia and Singapore.

WHY I NEED THE WHITE CARD? SINCE IT IS NOT EXCLUSIVE.

  • Yes , it is not exclusive. Anyone can apply. BUT you are exclusive to Sephora. There are few benefits of becoming a member. Read on. I will explain later.

HOW THE CARD WILL BENEFIT ME?

  • With every purchase of RM5 you will get 3 points or every SGD1 you get 1 point. It is cheaper to spend in Malaysia if you ask me :P When your accumulated points hit 250, you will get 10% discount for any purchase.
  •  I received my welcome gift voucher. But I cannot confirmed if this apply to everyone.
  • A birthday gift on your birthday!
  • Special promotion and events invitation.

ANY LESS THAN COOL THINGS?

I want to say no but I can't.
  • The 10% discount only valid in one purchase. Unlike the previous cash promotion, you do not need to top up your purchase if your purchase is below RM75 or SGD40.
  • I only get my welcome gift after my second purchase. I assume, when you do not make any purchase after you apply for a white card, you will not get a welcome gift.
  • If your account is inactive for 18 months, Sephora have the right to delete your accumulated points. (noooooo!!!!)
  •  After redemption, you have to collect another 250 points to get another 10% discount (sucks...)
The 10% have an expiry date.

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR WHITE CARD?
  • Combine your purchase with your friends. You spend less but you collect points faster. When you redeem your 10% points. Inform everyone and redeem together. Hahaha. No limit to how much you can buy. So go and fully utilise it!

I receive my voucher to redeem my welcome gift via email. I have yet to redeem it.

Thank you Sephora for rewarding your loyal customer! Please give us more deluxe samples.

Did any one receive birthday gift from Sephora yet? Share with me!!

If you wish to read the full terms and conditions hop on to Sephora Website.

Kang Guan Seafood @ Carey Island

Some foodie photos!
I went to Carey Island last Saturday. According to my boss, Kang Guan in Carey Island serve nice and cheap seafood. Since I am craving for a crab, and I am kinda bored with Tak Fook Restaurant in Kepong I begged the boyfie to drive me there.

After nearly 3 hours, we reached Kang Guan. Blame it on the wrong direction given by Google map!! According to Google map Kang Guan is located on Jalan Bandar when the correct road is Jalan Bandar Lama. More on that at the end of the post. Now I shall feast you with my food photos!

I am not good in describing food. Most likely I will use delicious and yummy all the time. Hahahaha.

The boyfie and I ordered few dishes.

ASSAM FISH - This thing here is REALLY good!!! I love the gravy! This was served first, bf had 2 bowl of rice with JUST the gravy! Yum!

KANGKUNG BELACAN - Veggie quite fresh, aromatic enough. Unfortunately, I prefer my kangkung belacan to be extremely spicy.. and this is just way to mild for my taste buds.

BUTTER PRAWN - Too sweet for my liking. I have no idea whether I should call this butter prawn or nestum prawn. If it was in fact a nestum  prawn, well I still don't like it. The nestum was soggy and sweet. Prawn wise, fresh.

Next, we ordered squid. But I did not managed to save it online before my lappie got stolen :(

CRISPY SQUID - Very crispy, but nothing really stands out. As funny as this may sound, the batter they use tasted like Murukku (indian snack). Not a fan of this either.

SWEET AND SOUR CRAB WITH MANTOU (chinese buns) - I don't really go for sweet and sour crab but they only cook the crab this way or Kam Heong. According to other bloggers, the Kam Heong wasn't that great, sweet and sour it is. The crab meat is firm and nice.

Overall, my food was not up to expectation. The only food that I enjoyed was the assam fish. They have very limited style of cooking :( I am not very happy with that. For not so picky eaters, this may be a good place. The pricing is reasonable. RM122 for quite a variety of dishes.

HOW TO GET THERE
Just follow the signboard to Carey Island.  The restaurant is on your left, RIGHT before the bridge. DO NOT follow Google Map. Your destination will be Makam Diraja even if you googled Kang Guan Restaurant. Yea, the bf and I ended up there the first time. Scary!

Thank you boss for introducing me to Carey Island. However, I doubt I will go for a second visit.

Have you been here? Introduce me to a good seafood pleaaaase???

NYX prices in Sephora Malaysia

Some of you might have heard about the news that Sephora Malaysia will be carrying the famous affordable makeup brand, NYX. I am here to tell you, that the brand is officially here in Malaysia!!!

Are you excited?
You can visit any Sephora in Malaysia (3 branches so far. KLCC, Starhill and Paradigm Mall). I managed to jot down some of the products pricing.

I hope this might help some of you who are staying far far away from Sephora and wish to know the range of products they carry in.

There are few more products that I did not managed to list out. However, I hope this list will benefit some of you.

If you are an online shopper, I do believe that you realised the price offered by Sephora is slightly higher. But do not forget, you get to swatch them on the spot and carry them back home in perfect condition.

Furthermore, if you have Sephora white card, you get to collect 1 point for every RM5 spent.

P/s: To those who waited for this price list to be up on my blog last night I am sorry. My condo was broke into yesterday. All my valuables, which includes my dearest laptop and cameras as well as hard disk were stolen (bastard robbers!). Well I can only say one thing. I am glad I was not in and karma will bite you in the ass so hard bastard!!!!!!

Attracted to the tittle? I am not bluffing. If you want to exclusively own the Urban Decay Vice palette, visit Sephora Starhill this October 2, 2012 at 7pm for their prelaunch. Not sure when the palette will officially launch in Malaysia.

After looking at Temptalia review, I am still thinking if I should get this..

LUXOLA your only online beauty store.

Who missed me?!?! I am hoping that at least 10 of you would because I really miss blogging! Without further ado, I am excited to bring you this good news!

Remember in December I wrote a post about an online store in Singapore I found out from my reader LadyCK? They are here!!! Yes you read right. LUXOLA IS NOW IN MALAYSIA

Tuzki Bunny Emoticon

HOORAY!!

When you visit LUXOLA website, you will be asked to enter your country of preference. Luxola now ships to 5 different countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Brunei. Respective currency will be displayed according to your selection.

I am so impressed that LUXOLA is able to give FREE SHIPPING with only RM190 purchase! Gather your friends and family for bulk order. hehehe..

What would an online store be without exclusive, unique products? Say thank you to LUXOLA! They give us the opportunity to get hold of the in-demand oversea products that I must say probably I have to wait til my hair turns grey to get locally!

I circled the two brands above because they are the brands I came to know during the blogger meeting and fell in love with!

I was invited to a private intimate meet up with Alexis, the CEO, Camille, the Sales and marketing director and other beauty bloggers. I get to play with various brands! I was sooo excited!

and yes.. we had our very intimate meeting there *clear throat*

Here are some of the products I get to play with.

My photo seriously didn't do any justice to the far right nail polish.. These colours are opaque except the far right, Indiana Ocean. Visit their nail polish collection HERE to see more varieties.

Since the first day I saw Face Atelier on youtube, I fell in love. If you have problem with Benetint from Benefit, put your trust in me and try Facade by Face Atelier for a change. This baby is more forgiving if you had streaky result with Benetint before. Not only that the foundation glides on smoothly despite the thick texture. Beautiful.

Each of the blogger walked home with deluxe samples and few full size products. Alexis and Camile are very generous. Not to mention, they serve champagne and delicious cupcakes for us to nibble on!

Tadaaaa.. My goodie bag!

If you miss me, below are my recent photos. HAHAHA. I gained weight due to 9-6 job, good thing, pimples starting to clear off! Hooray!

Rane, me, Jess, Jerine.

Freshkon® Dezigner series

Ola girls.. Ahem.. Normally I would address you as ladies but today we are going younger.. Anyway I hope April is treating you good. I recently received 2 boxes of Freshkon® Dezigner Solitaire Series. When I was asked to pick my colours, what I had in mind was black and brown. Yes.. darlings I have pass the age of being bimbo and young. Hahaha.. Can you believe I even wanted to recolour my hair to black! Holy cow! I am such a boring person now!

Back to the designer lenses, Freshkon® had recently came out with 4 gorgeous shades of lenses under their Dezigner Series.

The colours above is not so accurate. Refer to my close up picture for a better view.

Not only the four colours are stunning they do come in gorgeous printed patterns too. Because of the outstanding multi-faceted diamond cut, Freshkon® Dezigner lenses will cater for the youngster with the age between 16 to 25 years old. Well, even if you are old in numbers if you are young at heart who cares. You defines you and Freshkon Dezigner lenses will help to make you shine and create your signature look.

Guess which shades that I picked! I have been warned earlier that this contact lenses are not for the professional since their targeted consumer are students or young working adult who work in beauty, fashion and creative industry…. Oh well I do consider myself fun :P so I picked the weirdest colour, PINK! And a more neutral colour GREEN!

If you asked me I really love the Green Solitaire a whole lot! I even received few compliments saying that I look prettier (I am pretty so this makes me prettier. Get it?) Guess who compliments me the first time? My boss! XD

The contact lenses come in blister packaging instead of bottles. I prefer the blister packaging a whole lot more just because I cut myself once while opening my Geo contact lenses. This is waaay more convenient.

Oh yes honey. I have perfect vision :P

Here are some infos you might want to know about Freshkon® Dezigner lenses :

· 55% water content for optimal comfort
· Hydrophilic surface for comfortable wear
· Large optical zone for clear vision
· Wide power range from -0.00D to -10.00D

I wore my Green Solitaire twice for work and Pink Solitaire once during the weekends.. Here are some close up photos comparing my eye colour to the contact lenses.

You can see very clearly the gorgeous solitaire pattern on Freshkon® Dezigner lenses

My comments on :
  • Colour: As mentioned earlier, I am in love with Green Solitaire. The colour is not too striking but the pattern definitely stand out. While for Pink solitaire, the colour is just as gorgeous. Definitely awesome to be worn for partying :P
  • Size: This lenses is 14.2 mm in diameter. It might not give enlarging effect for some but for me the effect is just nice. As you can see I have the Chinese eyes which is small. Bigger diameter lenses will make me look like Ju-On.
  • Level of Comfort: Just to check the level of comfortableness I wore Green Solitaire to work, I wore the lenses for about 10 hours. Frankly said, roughly around 6 hours my eye starts to get itchy and dry. The first few hours was fantastic but wouldn’t recommend this for long hours. The most important thing is I had amazing experience wearing this. My normal lenses will normally cause me to have blurry sight due to smaller optical zone but with Freshkon® Dezigner lenses I do not have that problem
  • Softness: Freshkon® Dezigner lenses are in the middle I guess. I did not face curling problem which is great and the application was effortless. Unlike certain brands that I tried before, wearing lenses alone took me more than 15 minutes! While wearing falsies took me less than 2! Tsk..can you imagine?
Who might like this :

· An extrovert and someone who enjoys attention.
· Into groovy, quirky fashion, hairstyles, accessories, music and art.
· Likes to be considered a trendsetter.
· Crazy about Japanese and Korean trends.
If you need help in choosing your shades, this might help.

Conclusion:
I would love to have the Green Solitaire in my daily make-up regime. I just couldn’t get enough. I would recommend this just because the optical zone for the lenses is larger compared to most lenses I tried before. One pair of Freshkon® Dezigner series is retailing at RM65 per box and last up to a month. For now they are having a nationwide promotion BUY 2 FREE 1. Yay!
